Our Company Story
Echols Glass & Mirror was founded in 1988 by Ron Echols, son of Richard Echols of A&A Glazing Contractors in Decatur, Georgia.
Ron carried forward his father’s industry expertise and entrepreneurial drive, building EGM into a production-focused operation designed to support glass companies across the Southeast. After serving in the Navy, Ron worked for several respected fabrication and installation companies before launching EGM with the support of his wife, Donna.
In 2007, Echols Glass & Mirror relocated to a dedicated full-service production facility in Buford, Georgia. This move enabled significant expansion into custom fabrication, tempering, and wholesale supply. Today, EGM supports more than 350 glass companies throughout the Southeast, providing consistent lead times, reliable delivery, and a broad range of custom capabilities.
In October 2025, Echols Glass joined the Installed Building Products (IBP) family. This partnership provides increased operational backing, national-level resources, and long-term stability — strengthening our ability to scale production, invest in equipment, and enhance service for our wholesale partners while maintaining the same local leadership and technical expertise.
Echols services Atlanta, the metro area, and surrounding regions, with established delivery routes into Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Our logistics network is designed specifically for wholesale distribution, ensuring predictable routing, safe handling, and dependable turnaround times.
Production Capabilities & Technical Specifications
Tempering
EGM is one of the few facilities in Georgia operating a highcapacity tempering oven capable of processing a wide range of thicknesses and sizes:
- Tempering range: 1/8″ through 1/2″
- Maximum sheet size: up to 84″ x 160″
- Precision processing: tight tolerances for shower enclosures, railing systems, and architectural applications
- Specialty fabrication: notches, cutouts, miters, polish, bevel, and CNC-driven custom work
Insulated Glass Production
EGM operates both manual and automated insulated glass lines, allowing us to support highvolume production as well as specialty, custom, and oversized units. Our insulated glass program is engineered for consistency, clarity, and longevity — and is widely regarded by our partners as the highestquality IG in the state of Georgia.
Capabilities include:
- Dualseal insulated units
- Precision spacer application
- Custom shapes, patterns, and specialty configurations
- Tight quality control for longterm performance and seal integrity
Facility & Equipment
Our 46,000 sq. ft. production facility houses extensive fabrication equipment, including:
- CNC machinery for precision shaping and edgework
- Automated polishing and beveling stations
- Largeformat cutting tables
- Dedicated mirror processing equipment
- Specialty lines for antique mirror, custom patterns, and boutique finishes
This scale allows EGM to support both highvolume repeat orders and complex oneoff custom projects with consistent quality and dependable lead times.
